Rhenium and rhenium alloy powders are manufactured
by three distinct methods:
- Mechanically Blended Flake Powder - formed by blending of the elemental powder components.
- Composite Flake Powder - Combines an initial starting powder (tungsten or molybdenum) with rhenium to form the composite powder.
The uniformity is better than that of mechanically blended powder.
- Spherical Powders of pure rhenium and rhenium alloys - Pure
and composite materials are melted together to form a bulk powder
of spherical and alloyed composition.
Rhenium Alloys produces rhenium metal powder
in two purity grades, 99.9% and 99.99%. All purity grades are based

Rhenium’s melting stock products
are utilized by major aircraft engine manufacturers as an alloying
addition in turbine blades in jet engines. Rhenium pellets are excellent
for use in chemical vapor deposition reactors.
Rhenium Alloys provides two purity grades of melting stock, 99.9%
and 99.99% pure on a metals basis. Our melting stock offerings include
the following:
- ½" diameter pellets
- 3/8" diameter pellets
Our careful fabrication process minimizes loss of product through dusting or crumbling, reducing costs and ensuring quality results.
